We plan on getting married next summer in Guatemala, but I don't want to stay there very long. I mean a year is about all I can commit to as I am a student here. Does it take that long and is there anything I can do to get the process going before the actual wedding?If my boyfriend and I get married in Guatemala, how long does it take for a visa for him to return?
You could file for a K1 (fiance) visa prior to marriage. You cannot file to sponsor a spouse until after you are married.
