How long does it take to BAH after getting married?

My husband is in the Marine Corp and we just recently got married, I was wondering how long do you usually get the money for BAH, so that we can find an apartment near base and start moving in.

Thanks!!How long does it take to BAH after getting married?
It takes a bit. He needs to turn in the certified marriage certificate (not the pretty one you get at the ceremony), your original birth certificate or a certified copy, and your ss card to get you added as a dependent. After that finance will so the necessary key punches for BAH. So it will probably take 1-2 checks after all that paperwork is turned in.How long does it take to BAH after getting married?
BAH is usually set up immediately. If your husband was in the barracks prior to getting married; he should have seen a very small BAH allowance on his check already.

He would need to inform his command of your recent marriage and get that paperwork processed so he could be eligible to live on base in housing or get the BAH allowance to live off base.
45 days is normally how long it can take. The earliest it would be in is Sept 15th's pay. It will depend on how soon the paperwork gets processed and entered into the system. It will though be backdated to the date you got married.
it all depends on when you go and get the service record up date i got married on the 6th got the update on the 14th and saw the pay that next 1st plus they will back pay you till the day you got married
It took us a few paychecks to get BAH but they back track to the date you got married so you aren't screwed out of a few months worth of money.
