Newly married couple looking for organization tips for home?

Married in August and the house is a disaster area. We are cleaning it up tomorrow and wanted to know if there are any hints and tips to help us either with the cleaning or with keeping things cleanNewly married couple looking for organization tips for home?
Well, I will tell you what my Grandmother told my Mother and my Mother told me and that is; if you get it out, put it back. When you cook, clean as you go. If you take the flour out, use it and put it back same with all other ingredients. Clean pots and pans as you use them and then when the meal is done all you have to clean are the dishes. Make the bed as soon as you get up. Clean the bathroom sink, mirror and toilet on a daily basis and then once a week do the floor and tub. If you don't pick up and clean up on a daily basis then it gets out of hand and becomes a really big job that takes all day. When you keep up with it on a daily basis it only takes minutes a day. Organize your kitchen so things are easy to get to and easy to put away. Same with bathroom. Get into the habit of having a place for everything and then make sure you use it. Hang up coats and clothes when you come home. If you don't have a closet for coats then buy a clothes tree and put it by the front door. Just do things daily.Newly married couple looking for organization tips for home?
Is it an issue of too much furniture or just a cleanliness thing?

In any case you need to start with a clean slate so bust out your rubber gloves, shampoo the carpets, clean the walls, vacuum the ceilings, clean the baseboards, and throw out (or sell) anything that hasn't been used in the past year.

Upkeep is easy. I wipe down counters daily, spray shower cleaner daily, do the dishes daily. None of that takes more than a few minutes. Sundays I do laundry, vacuum, clean floors, the refrigerator, etc. If you assign yourself one day per week then it doesn't feel like you're endlessly cleaning. The more annoying stuff like baseboards, blinds, windows, etc. I'll do once a month or so.
Try to put things where they belong, if you open something put it back and make sure to cover it or close it properly. Try to organize your dresser drawers, closet, cup board and bathroom where there is not a lot of things out and laying around. Get small trash cans for each room and use them. Make sure you have places for storage, sort through things and donate what you are not needing or wanting anymore. I hope some of this is useful to you.
Less is more, and it will help you organize faster. Flip a coin on things that you don't agree on and stick to the decision. Depending on the space place antiques and valuables in first and then move backwards with invaluable things. Things that your not sure about ( Flip a coin) if you can afford to give it away do it will save time with unpacking and it may help someone you love. Good Luck and Congrats!!
I found the BEST website ( http://www.flylady.com ). It helps you set routines and everything. I have just started it myself so I do not have much personal experience. But it does have some amazing reviews and in the 4 days I have been following it it has made that overwhelming feeling go away.

Congrats and best wishes
i don't think there is anything you can do...if your a neat freak (like me) u will always be..and if your more laid back you will always be...just try to put things back in place once you done using it..right away don't put things to ''later''
Throw trash away once it becomes trash. Dishes should be done after every meal. Divide the chores equally on a daily basis, based on your work schedules. REFUSE TO ACCEPT THAT ';HE'LL DO IT LATER';
