I am looking for a private island or a place that can be closed off from the public...something very romantic and beautiful and unique and it doesn't matter which island, I am open to anywhere lovely for a wedding. What are some really great places to get married in the Caribbean?
Barbados without a doubt.
You can consider Little Arches which is close to the ocean. It received an award this year from TripAdvisor.

There's also an adult only all inclusive Almond Resort called Beach Club %26amp; Spa.

You can also look into any Sandals resort in St. Lucia.

if you have the money, the top spot fro a wedding is Coson .
The Peninsula House is the top small hotel in the Caribbean.
They have a beach front restaurant that is beauty for a wedding and you can stay at their hotel for your honeymoon. This place is a girls dream location. The hotel has write ups in all the top magazines. Thomas is the man to talk with at the hotel. He makes dreams come true.
Try the island of Dominica.Notto be mistaken with the Dominican republic.
The island is exotic and has one of a kind spots that will make excellent backdrops for your photos.also it is not over commercialised and flooded with tourists.
itst the place where Pirates of The Caribbean 2 and 3 filmed all green the exotic mountainous and black sanded scenes.
I highly recommend British Virgin Islands. The territory is absolutely lovely and there are more than one islands that you can choose from where you can get married on. For example there is Virgin Gorda, Anegada and the main island Tortola.
Surfsong Villa Resort is a lovely tranquil place where you can have a beach wedding as well your honeymoon. They make all the wedding arrangements from start to finish, you would not have to worry about a thing.
If you are US citizens, you should get married in US territory such as the USVI or Puerto Rico, or get officially married first in the US and then go have an unofficial ceremony anywhere you like. You will find it difficult at best, and sometimes impossible, to prove your marital status when married outside of the US, and that will make a great deal of difference with IRS and with inheritance matters.
Haiti. Moulin sur Mer here is the link of their website http://moulinsurmer.com/

See the other side of Haiti the media never show you
El Conquistador is a top choice. Also Caribe Hilton, since they have a private thingy.
I seriously doubt you could afford one of the private islands in the Caribbean.. however, there is an attractive alternative to one.
Think about going to Bequia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines... which is especially nice because most AmeriKans don't know about them.. all they know about are Jamaica and Trinidad because they are heavily advertised on AmeriKan TV.
Anyway, Bequia is one of my personal favoirtes in the Caribbean. For a venue like what you are thinking about look at the FRANGIPINI HOTEL on Bequia. You can look them up on their site at www.frangipani@bequia.com and see if that matches your needs.
